Top Women in MediaBusiness Alabama magazine has announced its 2019 Top Women in Alabama Media. These women were nominated by friends, coworkers, and the public and represent all types of media across the state: broadcast, print, agency, and digital. The list includes Edie Hand, a four-decade veteran of advertising, television, writing, and commercial projects. The Top Women program celebrates women in every role of media, highlighting those making a difference in their communities. Judges selected 25 women who will be honored at an awards dinner on November 4, at the Hyatt Regency Wynfrey Hotel.

Sharyl Attkisson, an investigative journalist, five-time Emmy Award winner and recipient of the Edward R. Murrow award for investigative reporting gave the keynote address. She is the author of two New York Times best sellers: “The Smear: How Shady Political Operatives and Fake News Control What You See, What You Think and How You Vote” and “Stonewalled.”
