It was an inspiring day at Middle Tennessee State University’s pouring into students- and faculty!- of the College of Media and Entertainment.

The event, was part of MTSU’s National Women’s History Month celebration, and inspired by the book Edie Hand’s Women of True Grit, which profiles more than 60 women who navigated with grit to transform their lives and those of the people around them. The event featured several of the women profiled in her project.

Huge congratulations and enormous thanks to “Women of True Grit” author/speaker/producer Edie Hand who spearheaded a stellar event together with MTSU’s Dean Beverly Keel. The packed afternoon celebrating National Women’s History Month featured accomplished keynote speakers and two panels of award-winning media and entertainment executives, writers, producers, actors, and singers who shared powerful stories of courage, resilience and perseverance in their lives, families and careers, in addition to valuable advice and wisdom for the men and women in attendance.

The event got a sweet mention on Channel 5 News. Big congrats to all. It was an honor to be with you and play a part. Swords up, pearls on!

The university posted more detailed information about their event on their website.
