Dr Trevy McDonald

The Women of True Grit selection for February is Trevy McDonald. She is an Associate Professor at UNC Hussman School of Journalism. Her teaching interests include diversity and media, electronic communication, and media and society. She is the owner of Reyomi Global Media Group, an independent book publishing and consulting company based in Durham, N.C.

McDonald is the co-editor of two scholarly anthologies: “Nature of a Sistuh: Black Women’s Lived Experiences in Contemporary Culture” and “Building Diverse Communities: Applications of Communication Research.” She is also the author of the novels “Time Will Tell” and “Round ‘Bout Midnight,” and has contributed to numerous anthologies and publications, including “Black Women in the Field: Experiences Understanding Ourselves and Others through Qualitative Research,” Black Voices Quarterly and Black Issues Book Review.
