To my Friends, Family, Associates, and Acquaintances;
Many people in our country have faced hard time this year and facing life’s daily challenges can be daunting. Somehow we manage the strength to keep going and make sure our families are provided for in every way possible. While there are many good charitable organization helping out, it’s important to recognize that one person through their activities can help make a difference in someone’s life.
The Edie Hand Foundation has had an active year and I have been very busy working on various projects to raise funds for cancer research, boosting the visibility
of The Genuine Pearl Girls Society (GenuinePearlGirls.com) to encourage and recognize acts of kindness throughout the world.
In fact through the Genuine Pearl Girls Society we were able to support and donate clothing to the Ramini Kids Foundation who maintains an orphanage in Indonesia. One of our local schools, Valley Head High School had members of their Fashion Class make articles of clothing and other items for these orphans which we shipped to Indonesia.
Through the Foundation’s work with the Orphanage we were able to connect with a group of businessmen in Indonesia who would like to build a children’s hospital that replicates the St. Jude Children’s research Hospital business model.
This past year I donated books, thousands of dollars in services, and national speaking fees to help raise awareness and funds for the Norma Livingston Ovarian Cancer Foundation and other groups. As you can see in this photo hundreds of local supporters turned out for a fund raising lunch where I was the keynote speaker and shared some of my personal cancer experiences.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is one of the main beneficiaries of the Edie Hand Foundation and working alongside Terre Thomas to raise funds to further their work has been a true calling. My personal goal for next year is to host our Annual Christmas Television Special in Memphis, Tennessee.
I would like to thank you for your support and previous donations to help further our work in making the world a better place to raise our children. In order to continue our work and expand our efforts please consider making a donation to The Edie Hand Foundation this holiday season.
As always, I wish you and your families and loved ones a very Merry Christmas and many blessings throughout the year.
