Edie Hand’s Women of True Grit:
Behind the Scenes Filming
Edie Hand and a production team from ABC Birmingham Sinclair Broadcasting along with NASA’s TV crew were recently at NASA Marshall Space and Flight Center on May 5th before Mother’s Day Weekend. They were literally filming some Women of True Grit that are totally out of this world.
Featured in the interview was Dr. Lisa Watson-Morgan the Program manager/ Human Landing System Program. The landing system is a key element of NASA’s bold new Artemis Program, which will leverage NASA’s Space Launch System and Orion crew spacecraft to return explorers to the moon in 2024.
Lakiesha Hawkins is the Deputy manager of the human landing system program office at NASA’s Marshall Flight Center. They are working with Global partners in making this all happen with the Hub being NASA in Huntsville, Alabama.
Included in that astronaut team will be the first woman and the first person of color to walk on the moon. These two women interviewed are leaders in this mission. Stay tuned for Women of True Grit Segments airing in August during mid-day shows, evening news and on the GRIT Hub.
